Ronald Watson
Dr. Ron Watson is a chiropractor, educator, and health informatics specialist dedicated to serving communities across Maine. As the founder of Central Maine Chiropractic, Dr. Watson emphasizes movement, pain management, strength, and nutrition. His commitment to underserved and rural populations is a career-long passion, evidenced by years of volunteer service providing care to veterans and athletes, as well as his past service on the Board of Directors for the Maine Health Data Organization. A recognized leader in his field, he has received numerous honors, including the Maine Chiropractic Association’s President’s Award (2021) and the Robert Lynch Award (2017, 2020).
In his role as an Strategic Operations Advisor with a focus on AI and health data, he provides practical, privacy-aware integration and informatics consulting for small to mid-sized healthcare practices. His work focuses on helping clinical teams adopt tools that improve patient access, operational efficiency, and health outcomes without sacrificing the human element of care.
Dr. Watson is a deeply engaged educator and scholar. He serves as a Full-Time Course Facilitator at the University of Western States, where he was named 2025 Faculty of the Year for the College of Graduate Studies. He holds advanced degrees in Chiropractic, Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine, and Health Informatics. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Transformative Social Change at Saybrook University where he explores the intersection of language, power, and infrastructure. Specifically, he investigates how AI-mediated systems and algorithmic ranking shape “legibility”—the way institutions categorize and simplify human experience. Dr. Watson is driven by a desire to understand how these technologies affect human agency and social fabric, seeking to ensure that the future of digital health and civic information is optimized for relationship-building and human flourishing rather than alienation.
Outside the clinic and classroom, Dr. Watson remains active in local leadership as a member of the Pittsfield Historical Society and a previous member of the Pittsfield Town Planning Board. He is also an active member of the Maine Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic Association and has previously held numerous leadership positions in both organizations.
Most importantly, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny, their four children, traveling, and reading.
